Hello. I hope you have had a beautiful week. Welcome back to another episode. I'm going to jump straight into the topic of this episode because I feel like it might be a bit of a long one.
Now this episode is here because I personally really value and I really enjoy understanding how we can use astrology in a more practical sense. So, applying different techniques or methods in astrology to infuse them into our daily life, into our routines and to kind of see the energy of astrology working in a practical sense.
So that's why this episode has come about. And what we're going to talk about is the different days and planetary rulers of each day of the week.
Each day of the week is ruled by a different planet or luminary—which is the sun and moon—which sets the tone for the day. So my hope is that this episode helps you learn how the planetary days of the week can be used to optimise your life. To help you bring more flow, more, ease, more opportunity, more abundance. Just start using astrology in a practical sense and start kind of working with the energies of the planets and just see what happens in your life as a result of that.
Because over the past year or so, I have played with infusing the planetary energy into my daily routines. And I thought it could be useful to share some insight into how I've been using the planets each day so that you can take inspiration and try for yourself. Now of course, whether or not you believe the planets have this kind of power is up to you. For me, I don't look at it as power. I look at it as an infusion of energy because the planets really do carry down the energies into our psyche. And just in general, too, like we feel the transits, we feel the moon changing through its different phases.
So I don't see it as it's holding power. It’s not like this is all you can do in that day because Mars rules that day. That's not how I see it. I just see it as an infusion of energy that we have the choice to tap into and utilise. And you know what, if it doesn't work for you, then it doesn't work for you, but why not play around with it and have some fun with it?
Now, before we begin, I do need to tell you that when we're looking at the planetary energy for the days of the week, we are only considering the traditional planets.
There are seven traditional planets. And seven days of the week. So it's a perfect fit. And what that means is that we're not using Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.
Now something else to keep in mind is knowing which day of the week is ruled by the planet that is your chart ruler. The chart ruler is the planet that rules your ascendant sign.
And again, we need to keep in mind and consider the traditional planets. So as a Pisces rising, you would use Jupiter, not Neptune. An Aquarius rising would use Saturn instead of Uranus. And Scorpio would use Mars and not Pluto. So we're just working with the traditional planets.
And the reason that I want you to think about your chart ruler is because on the day that is connected to your chart ruler. You may find that your energy feels increased. You may feel more activated, more alive and motivated and just more on top of things. Okay. So just keep that in the back of your mind as we go through the different days and the planetary rulers.
So let's get into it.
Okay. First, obviously we have Monday. Monday is connected to the moon. Now the moon is soft and nurturing. So it's not an ideal time to plan a work intensive day. I'm not saying we shouldn't work on Mondays, obviously. That is not realistic. But if you don't feel particularly motivated and lively on a Monday, feel free to blame it on the moon. If you're self-employed or you have the ability to structure your days in your job. Monday would be better for kind of like a slow start or a soft kind of schedule. And if you can prioritise quiet time and spend the morning planning and easing into the week, It just might feel a little better for you.
Now on Mondays, I try to delay my morning latte until the kids have gone to school. Then I have a slow morning with my latte on the balcony. Sometimes I'll journal set intentions, which is another moon-related activity, Or I'll just sit and cuddle the dog and listen to the birds and whatever's happening while I finished my latte. And then typically I will try to tune into my body because the moon is deeply connected to our physical body. And I'll let my body and my intuition—also a moon theme—guide me on what I need or what I feel like doing next.
Now, obviously I'm going to keep in my mind, my responsibilities of that day, the things I need to get done, but I'm just approaching it from a different energy.
The moon is also a changeable energy. So it is the fastest moving planet in our solar system. The moon changes signs every couple of days, every two and a half days it's moving into a new sign. So with that said, I do encourage you to leave room for movement and changes in plans on Mondays.
So if something pops up midday, go with it, you know, practice not being so rigid with your day. So Monday, or we could call it moon day, is a good time to reflect, to process your emotions, to listen to your emotional needs, practice, self soothing, self care, and just generally love on yourself a little bit more. Nurture yourself, take care of yourself. It's also a really supportive day to tend to your home, and to spend time with your family.
I started using Mondays to clean my house. My partner and I, we have four kids between us. So after the weekend, when we have all the kids here, the house is absolutely trashed and I use that Monday to really kind of reset the house. I tend to the home, so I'll rearrange, I'll clean, I'll buy fresh flowers, light a candle, or some incense, let as much sunlight in and just kind of really take note of how the energy feels in the home. So it's really about taking care of yourself and taking care of your home and family.
Now there's a few things on my don't list for Mondays, which includes planning social events as the moon can make us feel a little more internal or reclusive. So like, I'm not gonna book in a dinner with five friends on a Monday night, because generally the energy's not going to be very supportive of that.
Obviously there are times when this does happen. And I'm not saying that you should not socialise on Monday. I'm just saying, be aware of the energy around that.
I also don't plan to attack a huge to-do list or I don't force myself to complete major work tasks or like reach deadlines on a Monday. So Mondays are kind of not that hustle grind kind of energy. It's a more relaxed energy.
And one final tip with Monday in the moon is to actually track way the transiting moon is in your birth chart. Like I said, the moon changes signs every two or three days. So looking at the transit chart and noting which side and house that moon is transiting your birth chart can also help inform you of the energy of that day.
Now, inside the astrology school community I actually have two documents in the resources section that goes through what it means when the moon is transiting your houses of your natal chart and the different signs in your natal chart. So if you want to have a look at that, you're welcome to join the community.
Okay, let's move on to Tuesday. Tuesday is ruled by Mars. And Mars is the planet of action desires, anger, and energy. So I like to tap into the aggressive martian energy on a Tuesday. I like to eat that frog on Tuesdays. Eat that frog is a term by Brian Tracy. Basically it refers to facing the most challenging and demanding tasks first. Because most of us tend to take care of the smaller, easier, or quicker tasks or projects first, and we avoid the big ones. But the big ones are what is going to move the needle the most and Mars on Tuesday is here to support us in getting that done. Because Mars likes action. It can move swiftly. It can pivot. It wants to go. It doesn't want to sit still. So Mars is a really good day for getting things done.
Also for working out in the gym, like physical, intentional movement to get that energy moving and flowing. And if you plan to have like a lazy day during the week, I would not be picking Tuesday for that. Now, depending what you do for work, this will apply in various ways, but Tuesday is a good day to be assertive. So it's a good day to think about asking for a raise, suggesting an idea, launching a new offer, um, even initiating a new project within your business or work. And with Mars ruling the day, we also have the ability to make fast decisions and take action, So we can actually accomplish quite a lot on Tuesdays.
But Mars also rules, aggression, conflict, anger, war, that kind of thing. So we need to be mindful of how we approach things or approach people that could lead to conflict on Tuesdays. So, if we find ourselves in that type of situation, it could escalate quite quickly and be much more dramatic than necessary.
And finally, I would say Tuesdays a day to step forward and to take leadership, whether that's at work at home with your partner, whatever it may be. Just be a little bit more confident, a little bit more assertive. And don't work in the background. Because Mars is bold and assertive, and that is the energy that we can tap into and utilise on Tuesdays.
Okay. Wednesday is ruled by mercury. Now mercury is the planet of communication, self-expression, thinking and the mind, everything that our mind is able to do. Now as a Gemini rising myself, I love Wednesday because mercury is my chart ruler. It's the energy or the archetype that steers the ship for me.
So the vibe of a Wednesday really feels quite delicious to me. And if mercury is the planet of thinking and communicating, it makes sense that we plan or execute communication-based tasks like podcasting, writing content, or even holding a live webinar. I try to record these podcasts episodes on Wednesdays and create front facing reels for Instagram to really activate and make the most of my mercurial energy. Obviously there are weeks where Wednesdays have appointments, I've got other work commitments in my other jobs that I'm doing. But if I can plan to record an episode or write up a newsletter or something like that on a Wednesday that, you know, matches with that mercurial energy, then I'm definitely going to book it in for that day.
Work stuff aside Wednesday is a really good day to schedule meetings or catch ups with your friends, because we will be feeling more social and more talkative. So it's a really good day to communicate your ideas or your thoughts. And mercury is very supportive of studying and learning new information or brainstorming ideas. So basically putting the minds agility to work. When I was completing an astrology program, like a certification thing, I left my assignments for Wednesdays because they involved researching, writing, and looking at detailed information, which are all mercury themes, right? Mercury loves information. It loves to have all the details and to organizs those details. So very, very fitting for that kind of stuff.
Now mercury is a mutable planet, and this means that Wednesdays can be a little all over the place if we're not careful. It can be a busy day, we could have a lot to juggle, a lot on our plate, but thankfully this is the day that we can best handle all the different things that we have to address that are going on in our lives.
Wednesday's really good for that. Now two things to be mindful of with Wednesday is getting caught up in gossip and drama because mercury does have a big mouth. And also being overly logical and analytical. The details and nitty gritty is Mercury's thing. Yes. But sometimes that can bog us down. So if you're say like studying or working on something that It starts to feel a little too much, maybe you're not getting traction, just take a break, listen to a podcast, move your body, do a brain dump, you know, like a journaling exercise, call a friend, talk on the phone, that kind of thing. Sometimes we need to get our brain unstuck and out of that hole of information and details and just give it a break for a minute. And then, let it go back in and try again.
Okay next, we have Thursday. Thursday is ruled by Jupiter and Jupiter is the planet of expansion, spirituality, optimism, teaching and wisdom. So Jupiter makes Thursday a really good day to expand our horizons, to open our minds to new ideas, concepts, and viewpoints, to actually consider a larger or different perspective than we normally do, because who knows where that could lead. If we just change the way we see something or think about something. Brand new doors and opportunities could open up.
Now many people consider this to be the most productive day of the week, because there's something about Jupiter that lights a spark within us, or even a fire underneath us. And we're focused on expansion and growth, and we're able to feel more optimistic. We can see the possibilities and potential around us. That's the kind of energy that Jupiter brings through on Thursdays.
Now Jupiter is big and expansive. So this is a really good day to review your big visions, your grand ideas, your dreams, your, your plans that you have, review them, identify where you need to adjust things. To bring them to reality. And I think what's really important is to feel into them as well. It's a good day to be aware of and reflect on your goals while also practicing gratitude for what you already have or what you've already accomplished.
It's also a really good day to try something new, to go on an adventure, to take a trip, to say yes to something that seems exciting or that you're curious about. Now, personally on Thursdays, I like to send my newsletters because I write about philosophical topics such as astrology and my newsletters are educational in style and Jupiter supports me in both of those processes.
Jupiter is spiritual. Jupiter is about education and wisdom. So very fitting to be sending out newsletters to be posting a new training or something like that.
Often I will write my emails on Wednesday, which is ruled by mercury and really supportive of those communication based projects. But I don't send it until Thursday where it may just be better received by my community.
Thursdays are also a really good day to learn, but not like mercury Tuesday. More learning from the world from experiences, from new perspective, from other people's wisdom and viewpoints, or even from spirit itself. So if you do study or learn Thursdays are very supportive of that.
But overall try using Thursdays to really dedicate time to a spiritual practice, to practice gratitude, to make a vision board, to try something new, go somewhere new in your city, in your town or try a new restaurant, and just to connect with something larger than yourself. So we're talking like your big visions that you have for your life, your grand ideas and things like that.
Moving on to Friday. Friday is ruled by Venus, who is the planet of love, luxury, wealth, pleasure and beauty. Now there is a reason that we tend to plan a date nights on Friday. And that's Venus. Venus loves connection, loves belonging and celebrating love and feeling appreciated. This is the perfect day to romanticise your life, buy yourself flowers. Smile at that mysterious man at the coffee shop. Plan a little shopping trip to treat yourself. Indulge in self care and what makes you feel central and luxurious. Venus says yes to all of this.
It's a good day to dial up the romance to plan a date, to be romantic.
Now, even if you're single, you can still tap into this energy. I remember before I was living with my partner, I would take my kids to their dad's house on a Friday afternoon. I would come home, run a bath, light candles, eat chocolate dipped strawberries that I made. I would have a glass of wine. I would rub lotion into my body. I would put on my favourite clothes. Keep the lights low. You know, just kind of little activities that love on myself.
So you don't have to be in a relationship to make the most of Venus's energy. However, it is also a good day or night to go on a date or to go out somewhere in public and hope that you might meet somebody. It's a good day to be with someone, even if that's just a friend or if you're meeting new people.
Now in business typically in the past I tried not to plan to launch anything on a Friday. But I have been experimenting with this because Venus is also magnetic as fuck. Venus is how we attract. We were just talking about attracting love, but it's also how we attract in general. so this is something that you could play with.
If you run a service or product based business. So if you put out a new offer or you release a new product or something like that, try doing it on a Friday. And just see how that feels or what the results are of that for you.
Now speaking of business, Venus Friday is the perfect time to have a money date. Now a money date is when you sit down with your finances, you have a date with money, with your bank account, you update your budget, you set financial goals, you work on your feelings and your mindsets around your relationship to money. So Venus is very supportive of that as well.
Okay next we have Saturday. And Saturn rules Saturday which is why some people call it Satunrday. Saturn is daddy energy. He's the planet of structure, of discipline, of being aware, of attending to our responsibilities. He helps us bring order to our lives.
So on Saturday, I like to carve out a little bit of time to arrange and structure my week ahead, both personally and in business. Now this isn't always possible, depending on our plans, you know, some weekends we have four kids to deal with, other weeks we have social plans. Or I just want to have a boat day or go camping or explore the city. But I do feel this energy almost every week on a Saturday.
At some point during the day, it's actually really interesting to me because I notice I'm thinking about structure and preparation and my responsibilities. And then I get frustrated when I just can't have the time or the energy, because we might be too busy or have other plans. So Saturday is a day that's really supportive of running errands of tending to chores, catching up on things that you've put off during the week, for organising and thinking about the things that you need to do to set yourself up for a good week ahead. It's a really good time to meet your responsibilities.
So it's not a day for putting things off or going with the flow. Saturn likes structure. He likes discipline. So how this could look in real life, it's doing the groceries and meal prepping or making a list of what you need to address and get done around the home that weekend .We're just ticking off those final few things from your to-do list of the week that has just gone by. So Saturday is a day where we just have a more serious approach to the practicalities of life.
And this doesn't mean that you shouldn't enjoy yourself on a Saturday, right? Because majority of us all work so hard during the week that the weekends should be enjoyed. We should have time to relax and to play. But if you feel like me that energy sometimes creeping on a Saturday try dedicating some time to those kinds of activities that Saturn supports. And see if it makes a difference In how your week ahead flows.
Okay. Finally, we have Sunday. Sunday is ruled by you guessed it. The sun. Now in astrology, the sun is our core identity. It's our vitality. It's our purpose. And while energy levels are not super low with the sun the vibe on Sunday is still somewhat rest and relax. The sun is about focusing on yourself. Okay. So Sunday is a day for your inner child.
We want to be able to do what we want to do to rest and relax. And do so with zero guilt of putting ourselves first. So this is a day to do activities that feel good to you to think of your personal goals, your personal interests and not just do what everyone else wants to do on Sunday. Sunday is a day for you.
It's also not the best day to have a super busy day or to over-commit yourself, to something. But obviously, as we know social engagements, events, parties, all those things do happen on weekends. So it's not always practical.
If you do personal development or, personal growth kind of work. Sunday is very supportive of that because the sun represents our identity, our ego, and who we are and who we're becoming. Sunday is a day to express yourself, to shine your light, to tap into our creativity as well, and focus on our purpose on our mission in life. Because the. sun in your birth chart is where you are here to shine. It is how you're here to shine. And that is what Sunday represents.
So they are the seven planets that rule the days of the week. I'm aware that a large part of my audience either has or wants to have their own business. So I also want to mention that really, I find the most productive days to be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Now, these are the days that are ruled by Mars, mercury and Jupiter, and they are very supportive In communication, in advancing our goals and in sharing things with others, Which obviously goes hand-in-hand with business. We need other people to help our business thrive. So for me, I'm also in an education based business which means Thursdays is really, really supportive of that, in putting out my educational. projects or content. Wednesday's really good for a communication stuff like podcasting, writing newsletters or written social media content. And Tuesdays is ruled by Mars. So very much about kind of getting on top of the tasks, that to do list, setting our goals and really starting to take action.
Tuesdays seems to be the most productive day, like where things get kick-started like we're kicking off the week or the work week, so to speak. And then, that carries into Wednesday and Thursday. Now, that's not to say that the other days of the week aren't supportive for working or especially working in your own business.
If you have your own business you that you pretty much have to work every day of the week, even if that's only, you know, 15 to 30 minutes of the day. We're pretty much turned on in work every day of the week, but those three days do seem to be the most supportive and the most productive days.
But if you don't own a business or that's not your jam, not your kind of vibe, that's fine. You can still work with these energies throughout the week. And I do encourage you to just have some fun with this, like play with the matching planets in the matching energies and see how that flows for you. If you reflect on your days, your weeks, you might even notice that some of these things naturally already arise that matched the energies of the planets that rule the day.
And like I said, if you do understand how to look at the transiting moon and see what house it is moving or what sign it is moving around your birth chart. That can be really helpful or so in planning, when is the supportive energy to get things done? But I can talk more about that in another episode in using the lunar transits to be more productive and to plan our days. So that could be a whole other episode.
I do hope this episode has inspired. You has educated you and has kind of given you a little Project to experiment with Over the coming weeks.
As always, if you have any questions or any feedback on this episode, I would love to hear it. My DMs on Instagram are always open. And with that, it's time to say goodbye. I hope you've enjoyed this episode and I hope you have a beautiful rest of your week. Bye.
