North Node Enters Pisces 2025
Today, on January 12, 2025, we have one of the most important ingresses of the year!
The Lunar Nodes change axis, with the North Node entering Pisces, and the South Node to Virgo.
I've shared many times that the Lunar Nodes are one of my favourite parts of astrology. 4 years ago I offered Lunar Node readings where I would decode and focus purely on them in a client's chart.
But this transit is one that will effect us all.
The Lunar Nodes are not planets. They are the two points where the Moon's orbital path crosses the ecliptic. When a full Moon occurs near this point, we get a lunar eclipse. When a new Moon is on the nodes, we get a solar eclipse.
Lunar Nodes transits are very important.
The Nodes spend 18 months in a pair of signs, bringing into focus the unfinished business that needs to be addressed within those signs. The role of the Nodes is to rebalance what has become misaligned.
The North Node amplifies; it lifts us up and propels us forward, pushing us to explore uncharted territory and grow. It's connected to our soul's growth and life purpose.
The South Node reduces; it distills down to the essence, asking us to release what’s been accumulated. It's connected to our past lives and our comfort zone (which isn't where we always want to be).
Over the past 18 months, the Nodes have been in the Aries/Libra axis. We’ve seen a lot more Aries – self-assertion, conflict, and wars – and unfortunately less Libra – diplomacy, cooperation, peace.
But what can we expect from the North Node in Pisces?
This will be a healing time. Collectively we are being called to soften. With Pisces, we want to understand what's beyond the veil. There has to be more to life, more to the stories we're told, and more beyond the beliefs we've limited ourselves with.
We will begin to value esoteric, mystical practices and approaches. Woo-woo business will become mainstream. Things that aren't fully understood (or that we can't fully explain) will become accepted: healing modalities, astrology, spirituality in general.
Some tips for the North Node in Pisces:
Meditation will be important - in whatever form that looks like for you (guided, hypnosis, breath-work, solo hiking, journalling)
Spend time by the ocean, or look at pictures and screensavers etc if you live far from it
Make time to connect to a spiritual practice. Foster and trust in your intuition
Allow your imagination to seduce you
Operate from compassion and empathy
Stay flexible (Pisces is a mutable sign)
What about Virgo?
The Virgo South Node will ground this new energy with it's practicality. Virgo is focused on the systems and routines in our everyday lives. The South Node will effectively help us integrate the Pisces North Node into our lifestyles - our daily lives and work, from health, to productivity.
But the South Node is also a point where we can easily get stuck. Because it's comfortable or safe. Be aware of these tendencies! But it's also able to come up with solutions to fix any problem. Virgo is very efficient.
How will this effect YOU?
Look to your birth chart and find the houses where Pisces and Virgo rule over. These will be opposite each other, for example the 1st and 7th or 10th and 4th houses.
These are the areas of your life where the influence of the Nodes will be felt over the next 18 months. For me, the North Node will be in my 10th house of career, the South Node in my 4th house of home and family.
If you have personal planets or angles in Pisces or Virgo this will be a transformative time for you. Know it's all for the purpose of realigning you with your highest path!
Depending on the planet the Node is touching will depend what part of your psyche is in focus. For example, the North Node on your Sun will influence your purpose, vitality and inner growth. North Node on your Mars will effect your physical health/strength, and your drive.
Nodal Returns
And if like me you have your natal North Node in Pisces (if you're born Dec 3 1987 - May 22 1989) then you'll be experiencing your Nodal Return. This is a very important 18 months for you and can be highly spiritual. You may experience a lot of realignments take place (aka changes).
For many people this is a time of amazing opportunities, advancements, recognition and success… depending how “on track” you are already.
My partner had his Nodal Return last year and it was a mixed bag, with some areas of his life forced into dramatic realignment which was a very difficult time. But we can now reflect and see how it needed to happen to put him on the right path.
